Kia: A Few Details About Its Upcoming Pickup Truck

2026-04-20

Kia recently presented its sales targets through 2030. Unsurprisingly, the Korean automaker is aiming for a 4.5% increase globally. The brand is even more ambitious in the United States market, targeting growth of 6.2%.

To achieve this, the automaker will launch several new models, including hybrid versions of the Telluride and the Seltos. Kia also intends to enter the midsize pickup truck segment.

A Tailored Product

Kia is known for listening to its customers, which is why its pickup truck designed for the North American market is expected to differ significantly from the Tasman already available in other parts of the world. In fact, it is expected to be a body-on-frame truck, a configuration that allows for greater capability.

On the mechanical side, nothing official has been announced yet, but all signs suggest that the Korean automaker will offer multiple powertrain options for its new pickup. A hybrid version would make perfect sense, but some rumors even point to an electric pickup equipped with a gasoline engine acting as a range extender—a type of configuration that is likely to grow in popularity in the coming years.

The Land of Trucks

North America is a market where competition is particularly fierce in the pickup truck segment. Nevertheless, Kia has enjoyed strong success with its recent products, and we can certainly expect similar results from its upcoming truck. No launch date has been confirmed so far, but it is expected to arrive around the same time as Hyundai’s new pickup, with which it is likely to share its platform. One thing is certain: we are eager to learn more about it.
